Fusion to Buy Privately Held Birch's Cloud, Business Services Unit

Fusion announced today that it has reached a definitive agreement with Birch Communications to acquire the customers, infrastructure and operations of Birch’s Cloud and Business Services division.  This winning combination will enable the New Fusion to broaden our advanced and integrated cloud services portfolio, complement Birch’s existing products and services in North America, extend our reach to become more competitive in key markets, and expand our infrastructure, operations and support systems to deliver even better ways to serve our partners and customers.  All of us at Fusion and Birch are looking forward to building the New Fusion and finding new ways to grow with you, our valued Partners.  We expect the transaction to close in a few months.

While this transaction is in progress nothing will change.  You will continue to receive timely compensation payments under the terms and conditions of your existing agreements, and your current support team will be here to continue to support you and your customers.  We are also keeping the same phone numbers and email addresses you have always used to contact us as we finalize our transaction.

For nearly twenty years, Fusion has provided an integrated suite of advanced cloud-based solutions to small, medium, and large business customers. The company offers businesses leading edge cloud voice, unified communications and contact center solutions; SIP Trunking; cloud connectivity, data, and managed network services; cloud computing, Disaster Recovery as a Service, storage and security.

This transaction adds significant scale to Fusion’s unique and compelling single source cloud services strategy, and on Day One after closing the acquisition, the new company will be one of the largest cloud and business services providers in the industry, emerging as a truly disruptive force in the rapidly expanding cloud services marketplace. The combined company will serve more than 150,000 business customers in the U.S. and Canada, with a 100% IP-based network, 30 data centers, 31,000 fiber route miles of network, and metro fiber assets in 11 major markets.

This transaction is all about growth and accelerating our success – and yours!  In combining Birch’s existing products and services, infrastructure and operations with Fusion’s unique single source approach to cloud solutions; the New Fusion will offer the industry’s most compelling portfolio of cloud and business services, with growth opportunities that were previously unimaginable.

With a strong focus on accelerating that growth with an expanding portfolio of cloud solutions, the New Fusion will be committed to maintaining the same level of outstanding support that you have come to rely on from your Birch and Fusion teams.  Again, it’s important to know that while we are increasing the number of ways for you to succeed, nothing else changes.  We will keep you advised as we get closer to finalizing our transaction.  As always, we look forward to partnering together in your success!

Best regards,

Brad Smith
